The event focused on “Competitiveness and Innovation: The Next Frontiers for Industry-Academia Collaboration” bringing together approximately 200 leaders from government, business, and academia to discuss enhancing innovation ecosystems of both nations Japan and Switzerland.

During the forum, as a Japanese businessman works internationally, Mr. Minamoto also engaged in meaningful exchanges with Dr. Andreas Baum, Swiss Ambassador to Japan, and State Secretary for Education, Research, and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Martina Hirayama and other delegations in the forum. Hue, Vietnam – July 26, 2023 – MITAKY’s CEO Mr. Minamoto Takahito, was honoured to be invited to a cultural exchange at the historic villa of Prof. Dr. Thai Kim Lan along Huong River, in Hue City. The gathering celebrated the deep cultural ties between Kyōto of Japan, and Hue of Vietnam, both members of the League of Historical Cities.

Prof. Dr. Thai Kim Lan, a distinguished Vietnamese-German philosopher who returned to Hue after over 50 years in Germany and Europe, has dedicated herself to preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage. Her residence, known as “Lan Vien Fairy Tale,” houses the Huong River Museum of Ancient Pottery, showcasing nearly 5,000 artifacts from the Sa Huynh and Champa civilisations as well as art pieces of her family since the Royal family of Vietnam in ancient Hue capital.

The event reinforced the shared commitment of Japan and Vietnam to cultural preservation and international collaboration.

Prof. Dr. Thai Kim Lan is a Vietnamese-German philosopher and cultural advocate. After decades in Germany and Europe, she returned to Hue to establish the Huong River Museum of Ancient Pottery at her villa, preserving Vietnam’s rich heritage for future generations.
